FAQS
DOES MY MEDICAL AID COVER THERAPY?
Yes it does, but it does come out of your day to day savings. Unless your child has a condition that is covered by PMB, in which case we can apply for funding.
WHAT IS YOUR NEW PATIENT PROCEDURE?
Contact us and explain what your concerns are. We will then decide if OT can assist and set up an assessment. An assessment is either done all at once or over a few sessions. We will reccomend the best option on a case by case basis.
DO YOU CLAIM STRAIGHT FROM MEDICAL AID ON MY BEHALF?
Unfortunately not YET. However we do supply you with an invoice with the necessary codes and ICD10 codes in order for you to claim back from your medical aid.
HOW DO I PAY?
We accept cash, credit card and EFT payments.
HOW LONG DOES THE ASSESSMENT TAKE?
The assessment is an hour to an hour and a half long. We prefer to do this in the mornings as it is when your child will perform their best.
IS THERE HOMEWORK?
We provide home programs- these are often fun activities and exercises to be done at home. This allows for faster progress to be made. Your buy in and involvement in your child's therapy makes all of the difference.
IS IT TOO LATE FOR MY CHILD TO START OT?
No. OT's work with a range of clients, from infancy to adulthood. Early intervention is best, but there is always something that can be done to help your child. Contact us to discuss your child and their needs. Together we will find the best solution for them.
HOW FREQUENT SHOULD THERAPY BE?
Therapy is usually recommended once a week, but may be more frequent dependent on your child's needs. Sessions can either be 30 or 45 minutes in length.
